Instagram already spoke about Branded Content Ads in March, but now is the time to officially introduce them. Advertisers can now promote organic branded content in the feed. These ads should soon expand into Instagram Stories.
Branded Content is content that a creator can make for a company, influencer, sportsman, singer, or other well-known personality. As part of these organic posts, the creator promotes the company’s goods or services with whatever they have agreed upon in a paid partnership. This content is marked as “paid collaboration with… (brand name)…”. In fact, Instagram considers it important that the brand-creator partnership is transparent for all users.
Until now, brands’ posts have only had an organic form. Now Instagram offers them support in the form of paid advertising to gain greater reach and engagement and to reach new users, not just those who are already following the business or creator. Advertising also gives businesses access to measurement tools for testing, optimizing and evaluating their impact.
How to get started with Branded Content Ads
If you want to promote a branded post with advertising, you need to take the following two steps:
- The content creator must allow a business partner to promote that post in the form of an ad. You do this in advanced settings.
- The company will then see the post in Ads Manager under “Existing Posts.” With these ads, you can optimize your reach, brand awareness, video views, traffic or interest, and place your ad either in the feed or in Stories.
