Two new ad formats are coming to Facebook, Automatic Video Collections and Slideshow Dynamic Ads

The platform ROI Hunter started to test 2 new ad formats that haven’t launched on Facebook yet; Automatic Video Collections and Slideshow Dynamic Ads. We have the opportunity to test them in Business Factory. Let’s take a look how they look like.

Automatic Video Collections

This ad format is an enhanced version of the Collection Ads. However, thanks to their catchy templates, its main goal is to increase your CTR and decrease the CPC. This is being created by automatically downloading the pictures from the product feed.

How it works

When creating the Automatic Video Collections, your template and product feed must be already in place. ROI Hunter offers pre-made templates or you can have them tailor made according to your wish and needs.

Automatic Video Collections are created almost the same way like Collection Ads. The only difference is that you have to choose the product catalog and product set that you want to download the data from. This is followed by choosing the template and amount of products you want to promote in the video (based on how many of them are provided by the template).
It is possible to insert your own text to the templates. You are free to choose what is going to be shown in the video – name of the product, description, price, currency, etc.). All these are automatically downloaded from the product feed.

Our results

We used the Automatic Video Collections for promoting the fashion brand. Its results were similar to the results of the “classic” ads. However, we noticed a significant change in the CPE (Cost Per Engagement) of the post. The price decreased by 53%.

How it looks like

Slideshow Dynamic Ads

ROI Hunter offers to use the templates also in Dynamic Product Ads. This should increase the effectiveness of your ads. We have been able to work with the static images only so far – in the formats of Single Ad or Carousel ad. Now we are able to make the move to the of Slideshow Ad format.

How it works

When working with templates, we use the Catalog Manager in ROI Hunter. Here is a new option for the creation of Slideshow template for Carousel Ads. Pictures to the template are downloaded automatically from the product feed. It is processed normally in the Template Editor.

When creating the Slideshow Dynamic Ads, you have 2 options – either the template animates and the product is constant or the product can be projected from several views and the template is constant. The second option requires several pictures of the product in your product feed.

How it looks like

When is it suitable to use the new ad formats?

In some sectors, creativity is not so much required in advertisements and we have a great opportunity to revive ads that in most cases can be boring. This is an ideal opportunity to make your ads look more interesting and to use the Automatic Video Collections or the Slideshow Dynamic Ads. Your ads will stand out of the ads of your competition. You will have a higher Click-Through-Rate and that can cause a decrease in the CPC. You will have more website visitors for a better price and that could increase the conversions on your website.
However it is evertime worthy to test these formats in comparison with your classic ads.
